Famous Korean Soccer Player: Kim Byung Ji

I really can't believe that I met in person a famous soccer player. He's none other than Kim Byung Ji. He had a chance to visit the English center where I'm working. The event was made possible due our company's big bosses Mr.Lee and Mr.Cha.
Below, is my edited version of my write-up regarding the event. The original version of my writing can be seen at PRKOREA TIMES.

Last week, World Cup Korea's famous soccer player - best goal keeper, Mr.Kim Byung Ji visited World Language Center. Their was an autograph signing and picture taking. Many Korean students from the language center excitedly asked for his autograph.

I also had the chance of getting his autograph and I also got his post card bearing again his signature.^^

Korean Dramas: My thoughts

I started watching Asian dramas in the year 2002. If I remember it correctly, Taiwanase soap opera was first shown here, dubbed in Filipino language. Meteor Garden became a big hit here also, the stars of its shows, F4 held some concerts here.

Then Korean dramas started airing in some local channels here (GMA and ABS-CBN). I'll cite some previously shown series Beautiful Days, Funny Wild Girl, Bright Girl, Loving You, Autumn, Winter and Summer Love story, 4 Sisters, The Truth, Romance in Paris and the much anticipated Stairway to Heaven.

Why I like Korean dramas?... Aside, from the actors and actresses, the story line is fast-paced, (even if its sometimes the usual story). Its still worth to watch because, of the breath taking scenes and aren't the actors and actresses of the dramas look so charming! Ye, I know and I admit I find persons who have cute-small eyes, really attractive!^^

Looking forward to see Stairway to Heaven...
Famous line from Romance in Paris, Aegiya Kadya!^^

My Moto!^^

I'm so happy today...^^ why? because, I was able to buy my "dream phone"! Me and my aunt went to the mall (SM North Edsa). And she helped me buy a new cellphone! Its not that expensive... Actually, its a budget friendly phone... it has a camera and I like it because it has MP3 and other cool functions. The brand is Motorola. The sales person said that its made in Hungary. I gave my old phone to my aunt... its still ok coz' it has a WAP and the brand is famous here -Nokia.
Tomorrow, another hectic day!... anyway... I must have long patience again!
I'll really have a good night!^^

Hectic day...

Today's been a busy day for me... Most of my pernmanent students are kids... (Mabuti na lang at lumipat na iyong 1 estudyante ko na sobrang demanding! ha!ha! Wala na akong sakit ng ulo!^^) Its quite tiring... and you know how young children are... wah! T.T Anwyay, its ok, since I consider them "my little angels". My little student whose name is "Sam" is really very cute. The one in charge of our schedule & the one who handles the distribution of students to all the teachers, talked to me this late afternoon. He told me that I should buy some goodies for Sam and that I should take him for a walk because, he's easily bored. Tomorrow, I'll buy another sweets for Sam.
Sandara Park, the famous Korean actress here in Philippine showbiz, had a shooting in our English center, most Koreans came rushing to see what's the commotion all about. Even, us teachers also rushed outside to see this "cute" Korean actress.
Another long and hectic day tomorrow!... still waiting for my prince charming...

Wonderful day!^^

I just got home... quite tired... I've new students today.^^ I like my student in the afternoon... why? because, he's a very cute kid, like a little angel (I guess he's 4 yrs. old)!^^ He's good and he's very cooperative! I'm looking forward on our class tom.
This late afternoon, Richard, the brother of my Korean student... (I don't know his Korean name) foretold my future... (that's according to fortune-telling - Palmistry). The results... He told me that my future husband isn't good-looking (its ok. as long as he has a good character, he loves me & he's loyal to me) he told me that I'll not be rich and that I'll have 2 children...^^ I want my child to be really cute... I wish his father has a nice cute eyes^^... I wonder where's my prince charming now?... ha!ha! I hope he'd find me soon!...
Anyway, hoping for more blessings to come!...

I'm lovin this way of life...

Whew! It’s been quite awhile… I need to update all my dear readers about what’s happenin’ on my “busy” life now ha!ha!^^
I’m happy with the company that I’m working for now… My Korean employer is very kind to us… Today he taught us the right way to pronounce some English words… I admire him because, he has concern for his employees!^^ (when it comes to foreign employers, this is rare). Also, our salary is good… reasonable… and I’m proud of this English center because it’s accredited by the Philippine government. Also, my schedule is almost full.^^ I’ve been quite busy this week. Last week, my new student and I went out and dined at a nearby mall. I’m still continuing my home study program (connected with the U.S home study system), I want to be real good English teacher.
Also, my composition (thoughts about Korea & its people, my experiences) is now the cover story at PRKOREA TIMES. What else?>… We have a 3 day break coz’ on Monday its “All Saints Day.” Looking forward to a brighter day, always!…
My favorite song now… Ochomyon… my student corrected the romanization (lyrics). I sing it most of the time… and I love listening to it!…
I’m gonna miss my Korean kid student… His English name is Carlo… He gave me an artwork souvenir of his…
I bought Korean-naengmyon~ noodles (yum!) and Choco pie… turning Korean again^^ ha!ha!
I’m lovin’ this way of life

Am I IN or OUT?...

Yesterday, I went to a recruitment agency. They are in need of Customer Care Officers (based on the malls). I took an essay test (which I passed^^), after that the HR personnel interviewed me. My papers will be forwarded to the employer and the company is well-known in the Philippines. She told me that I should wait for 2 weeks for the employer's call. If they will not call me the HR team would look for another position for me. I just hope my waiting will turn out right... I need this job for my future...

National Day of Korea!

I've read on the local newspaper that today is the National Day of Korea. (4337th Foundation Day of Korea). I also want to say to the Korean people, readers of my blog and to their government, Republic of Korea Congratulations on their Foundation Day!.

Our president, Her Excellency, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, also addressed a letter to the Republic of Korea, congratulating them on their National day. According to her letter, she said that this day "Mark the special friendship and cooperation between our two countries, which are both moving towards the future with greater clarity of shared goals and aspirations". She ended the letter by saying, "I have reason to believe that the close partnership between our two peoples will reach even higher levels of friendship and cooperation in the future.

On the same local newspaper another nice letter was addressed by the Ambassador of Korea, Mr. Yu Myung-Hwan to the Philippines.

The past 40 years of economic development in Korea demonstrates its capacity for dynamic change. Korea has set a new course that will capitalize on this inner dynamism to usher in a new era of change and oppurtunity. - source: Philippine Daily Inquirer Special Project section. Sale at the Mall

Just arrived...(quite tired) me and my aunt went shopping. I bought an original Korean vcd movie, the title is Acacia. Maybe, tomorrow I will make a movie review about it. I also bought a new shirt and a badminton set.

Later, we will go to church to attend the anticipated Sunday mass. After posting this, gonna check my email. I hope my Korean friends already answered my email.^^

A day with my friends

This afternoon I went to my former co-teacher's house to meet my friends and former co-teachers. My friend July wants to borrow my Korean vcd's, so I copied the Korean movie Donggam for her. Sad to say only the first part was copied since, my brother is having a hard time "burning" the cd. I also gave Eileen the souvenirs from our student. She's so happy to receive it. Cherrie is still the same... still so talkative and very energetic...
Honestly, I didn't feel like meeting them... its not that I don't want to see them, but I just want to stay at home and listen to cd player and spend my whole day with the computer. >my constant date! ha!ha!

Tomorrow, I will go to the mall to pay for my tuition (International Correspondence School) at the bank (Yehey! I'm going to graduate soon-home study Effective English course!)

My Composition

I've updated my writings at PRKOREA. My online friend who is also a member of VANK (voluntary agency network of Korea), was the first one to read my writings. I emailed to him my first draft, he said it was ok. I just edited some parts and now you can see my work by visiting this site.

I don't like it!

Today, I went to a telecommunications company, (My brother was the one who referred me to this company) I didn't send my resume to this company, but since my brother recommended me I was scheduled for an exam. The HR personnel briefed us about the nature of our job (Call Center Representative). I know that I will not push through with my application because, I don't like working on a night shift (we usually call it graveyard shift). I passed the oral exam and I know its a shame if I didn't pass the test. I told the interviewer that I will quit my application, so here am I. Back home again...

Anyway, this coming winter vacation my acquiantance from another English center will inform me if they're hiring... planning to go back, teach again...^^

I believe...

I believe OST- My Sassy Girl
KoreanLyrics

I believe... When you are not with me there are no stars in the sky.
I believe... The way back to you will feel a little far.
I'll carry all those memories deep inside me.
I'll feel pain, it'll make tears fall.
When I won't cry you will leave me
With no change and no tears.
Someday again the tears will come around
You know it

I'll believe that you are waiting.
I do it for you.
I believe... It'll hurt me to see, you can't cry.
I believe... My tears will fall, you should turn back to me again.

Again I'll glimpse you come into my sight
And it'll make my tears fall.
When I won't cry you will leave me
With no change and no tears.
Someday again the tears will come around
You know it
I'll believe that you are waiting.
I do it for you.

Before I knew you, the world was dazzling.
From that sky I got left with tears.
I will care for that person.
You are the only reason...
To me the wait gives me enough happiness.
Love is the only reason...
As days pass by,
If you forget the way, I'll be waiting
I do it for you.
I do it for you.

CHUGULE?!~~

My former student taught me this word. I will never forget the Korean words that he always say to me... mind you!... it's not a nice Korean word...ha!ha! I'd say its a favorite line of Jeon Ji Hyun in the Korean movie MY SASSY GIRL ~CHUGULE?! (wanna die?) and just last month I learned another word ~TAKTEKARI. (I forgot the exact meaning, but I think its similar to "bird brain").

Why bluelei?

To all the readers of my blog and to those wondering why is the title of my blog named bluelei. It's simply because,
BLUE - is my favorite color. (powder blue, sky blue and navy blue)
LEI - I just shortened my nickname LEAH into LEI
So that answers your query...^^
~Anyong!

Enjoy life!^^

I feel good today! I've realized that it's up to me... if I want to be happy I can be happy! I don't want to sulk all day and feel sorry for myself... I've realized that there are many beautifull things and I should be thankful on the things that I have... Right now, I'm listening to the theme song of The Classic It's one of my favorite Korean song...^^ I got the translation from KoreanLyrics (great site! check it out many Korean lyrics)

OST > The Classic > translation
No-ege Nan, Na-ege No (I am yours, You are mine)

I am yours, like the sun which sets
The beautiful memories are all from one place
Precious memories of the naive days together
Woo- they remain as a picture which has no regrets

You are mine and make the lonely times pass
You are the sunlight which shines on me
Your small white hand in mine
Like the sparkle of a jewel it makes the promise of eternity

You are mine, like a sad graduation song
You are still a small part of this hear tof mine
Your beauty glitters in your eyes
Like so many stars I hope you will always shine
