"A painting is more than the sum of it's parts. A cow by itself is just A cow. A meadow by itself is just grass, flowers. And the sun picking through the trees, is just a beam of light. But you put them all together and it can be magic." - Flipped
Finally, my birthday wishlist is almost going to be complete! Well, because I made each one happen. he!he!he! Anyway, the material things I can fulfill, but there's a wish that I cannot fulfill, only in His time that wish can come true. I thank GOD for giving me 'blessings' so I was able to buy all these material things. But of course, He knows my heart deepest and real desire. Still, waiting on you Lord!
Anyway, after work I went to the mall to buy some things, and then I went to the department store in the electronics section, immediately I checked out the Samsung kiosk, where the cameras are displayed. The digital camera that I bought today is quite the closer to the price of the digicam that I bought 6 years ago. It was also a Samsung camera. I've had good memories with it and Samsung is a trusted brand. I like Samsung, because my phone is also Samsung.
I'm not really a techie person. I dare not to buy a new pc or laptop, I'm just glad that a relative of mine gave me one, and it's also a good brand. I buy when I 'really' need, or when that 'gadget' is giving already giving up on me. Like my phone, it's still in good condition, so I'm not planning to change it at the moment. Maybe if I can swap my phone I will.
Anyway, here it is. Excited to use it tomorrow, for our YoungPro church meeting.
Since I'm posting about one of my hobbies and passion in life, let me also share with you some of my Chinese song recordings. Pardon, that this is not recorded professionally in a studio unlike my other two local songs, which is also included in my YouTube video page.
I've been singing Cantonese songs since my college days, mostly songs by Vivian Chow. She is my most favorite Hong Kong artist. Other recordings of mine included songs by the late Ms. Teresa Teng, which I know is a must that I learn her song because she is one of the well-respected and admired artist in the Chinese scene and all around the globe. Also, I did covers of contemporary singers like Penny Dai and Rainie Yang, Charlene and JJ Lin's duet, and also a cover version of Wang Lee Hom's song.
Anyway, here's a sample of my recorded songs. Thank you for checking out my blog and thanks also for checking out my YouTube videos.. 謝謝! xiexie!
The first and the second song is Cantonese and the third and fourth song is in Mandarin.
Most of those who knew me and also who are connected to me 'socially' online will know that I really like Chinese language, culture, arts, almost anything that is related to it. Anyway, this afternoon I collected all my Chinese books, (I put them somewhere around the house). I wanted to keep them all together, for safekeeping just like my Christian books, which are neatly arranged and safely tucked inside a small cabinet. Before, I said that this hobby of mine was my first love but I corrected it and said it is just my second love, because GOD should always be the first. :)
Anyway, took a shot of these books, which I've been collecting since, I was a teenager (highschool days) and a few given to me by my friend and Filipino-Chinese friends/acquaintance. My collection ranges from history, novels, philosophy to language books. Also, included in my collection is the mainstream history and culture of the Filipino-Chinese, which is also a part of the Filipino culture.
I remember my former 老師 laoshi (teacher), in mandarin language. He told me that it's a rarity to find someone like me who has a passion like this. He's also the one who encouraged me to continue doing what I love, and that someday I'll able to contribute something to the society.

I just finished watching. "You Are My Lucky Star" movie. The film is about a comics artist or cartoonist Sophie, and about a secret agent named David/William. It stars, Chinese superstar Zhang Ziyi and Mr. Musicman, Wang Lee Hom. I watched the Chinese version since I can't find an English subbed, anyway the movie is funny so I enjoyed watching it while I'm on a 'sick leave' from work.
This movie is a prequel to "Sophie's Revenge", starring Zhang Ziyi again. I recommend this film also. I think I both like the film, and each is a favorite of mine, in the same level.
I like the OST of the movie which is sung by the lead actor and actress. The meaning and melody is also good so it's a thumbs up for me.
I really don't encourage you people to love a little, because when you love you should not be selfish. Just love away! I included the English translation of the song. Enjoy!
Love A Little The wind blew and moved the windows, as well as the leaves sounding the surrounding,
As people’s dreams are loitering, into a farther and farther place.
The moon in the sky exposed half of its legs,
Looking to the ground and seeing that there are those who aren’t able to sleep,
The clouds cover the light, extending the night,
as the winds gently blew pass your hair.
The night shut both of its eyes to be silent without a word,
And I know that you are listening to my thoughts,
I wanted to say that I will love you, a little bit more,
Always right next to your ear,
trusting that you love me too, though it may be little.
Yet, it is only you who never realized this.
I wanted to say that I will love you, a little bit more,
always right next to your ear.
In this I also trust that I will love you forever without change,
and I know that you surely will end up realizing it.
The wind blew and moved the windows, as well as the leaves sounding the surrounding,
As people’s dreams are loitering, into a farther and farther place.
The moon in the sky exposed half of its legs,
Looking to the ground and seeing that there are those who aren’t able to sleep,
The clouds covered the light extending the night (the night becomes extended)
The wind gently passes through your hair (your hair)
The night shut both its eyes and remained silent.
You know that I am listening to what you’re saying, I want to say that I will love you, a little bit more,
Always right next to your ear,
While believing that you love me too, even if it is little;
It is probably because you never detected this. discovered/found/realized/detected.
I wanted to say that I will love you, a little bit more,
always right next to your ear.
In this I also trust that I will love you forever without change,
and I know that you surely will end up realizing it.
I was thinking of the proper title to put here. I'm turning this personal blog into a public blog, which is the usual for most blogs, meant to be read by the public. Well, only a few people or maybe, you can really count by your fingers, those who had the chance to access this blog of mine. You can say now, you can read my 'heart's musings. Like the comment of my churchmate, he says that I'm always an 'emo' person. Well, maybe, the 'feeling' thing is really the dominant trait in my personality. Hello, Myers-Briggs personality test again! Leaving that aside, let's just say I am a person that has a high emotional quotient, I'm more in-tuned with my feelings. Looking inward an introvert.
Enough of that explanation. So this is the second day of January 2014. I'm really looking forward to a lot of things, and of course I'm expecting that I will make new friends this year. And my plans, will push through with the help of some people. By the way, I want to share an artwork of mine, showing a cartoon 'me', welcoming 2014. Yup, I like to draw, to those who knew me, I almost took up Fine Arts wayback in College but chose a 'Science' course instead. So, I'm just re-awakening this passion of mine.
Like what I have written in my spiritual/religious blog. I can say that we all have problems, hardships in life and tough times are inevitable. Rich or poor, class A, B and C people. Life like's that. It's just a matter of perspective. Like the lesson that I've learned in a Japanese movie, Midnight Sun, where the protagonist has a rare kind of disease, they call it XP, where exposure to the sun can actually endanger them and can also kill them. She said that she will continue to live her life, until the day she dies. If we think of our problems, and worry over it, what good does it do to us? Will it be solved immediately? We're just putting a lot of burden on ourselves. Like in the bible, Jesus said, "Why worry for tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself" (Matthew 6:34). Our Master have taught us that, so who else should we trust and believe? Echoing what the Apostle Peter, "To whom shall we go?"
In closing, let us be thankful for we were able to behold a New Year. Some people may be pessimist
about looking forward to a New Year, like what's there to look forward to? But for me, everyday is a promise of hope from GOD, not only a promise, but also a gift. Let us be thankful for every tomorrows. And this new year just continue living life, enjoy and never be afraid to love. We may have experienced of getting hurt in the past but, don't lock your heart. To love is to be vulnerable like what C.S Lewis have said. If you have never really loved at all, or have taken the risk to fall in love, then you certainly don't know how it feels to be human.
Love is for the brave and courageous.
(Below is my cover version of a song about LOVE, with an excpert on 1 Corinthians 13. The song speaks about love, that it is not like a thing that you replace if its not in fashion anymore. It is also about a person telling someone to not doubt her love for him because it is genuine love. That even if they grow old, physical appearance change, she will still love him, unconditionally. Forgiving that other person even if he did a wrong thing or hurt you. That is what true love is all about.).
Pag- Ibig
Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude It is a not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth It always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres.
I saw this Korean music video posted on a social site by my office mate.Good thing I checked out the video! I cried while watching. The video was really touching, and I can relate to the feelings shown in this video. What I like about this video is that it is presented in a unique way, sort of animation and comics strip style. The story line is also cute! It is a fantasy too. The story is a about a designer who owns a mannequin and then the mannequin became alive.
I really like this song because the meaning of the song is really beautiful. Eventhough we've been hurt before, I know we can love again and trust someone who will love us truly, and stick with us through the good and bad.
Here are some of my fave shots from the MV.
Here's the English translation:
This Time I promised myself that I will never fall in love again.I pledged this words in my heart. Looking back at the memories I sealed. Now I have broken my promise. I let go of all the pain and tears. The moment that I first saw your eyes. Your smile lifted my courage. As I rest on your shoulder, my heart feels warm. I want to be with you forever. Maybe this time it's different, my love. I can trust you with my heart. You and I, this feeling and passion, will never change in this timeless world. I hope we can remember this. I love you baby, and I need you baby. Without you I will forever drown in tears of sorrow. Please don't change everything, I will be the same. I sincerely trust and love you but, my confidence fades without you. As the night shadows me, and the day lights up. If I do not see you, I might cry again. The days of sorrow and sadness, shadow me.
I have tried very hard to avoid, men breaking my heart. I hope you will not be part of sorrowful memories.
Open your heart, hug me with love, forever. Baby. You are the one and my last hope. If I live in a world without you. Darkness will fall and tears shed. Please take care of my heart, my love.
I have seen a lot of good movies recently
through the recommendation of Mr. Kartoonista. From classics like the 1980's movie - Aeroplane, to
Shakespeare's period (Shakespeare in Love), Pride and Prejudice and
contemporary -- we both like You've Got Mail.(Trivia:Pride and Prejudice was Kathleen's (Meg Ryan) favorite book
here). In one of our conversations (online). He mentioned this movie to me. At
first I was not really impressed with the trailer, its like my mind can't
connect with what's being shown. But then again that night, since he wants to
'get' that movie, I became curious. So, I watched it online. Even if it was quite late, I was really
hooked and I didn't fell asleep. The movie gave me goosebumps and it gave me a 'nice' feeling. I just love it! Well, maybe I'm just reminded of the lead female
character of myself. There are times when you feel like you just don't belong
to a certain crowd, but you try to be and then you find someone who's
'interesting' and somehow you connect with each other. It's like a 'soul mate' sorta'
thing. It's like you 'clicked' with someone.
Have you ever experienced something
like that? Like you've felt a connection with a certain person? Someone whom you feel
comfortable with and you can talk for hours about anything under the sun, and
never get tired of it? I somehow can relate to this movie again. (Talk about 'feelings' as a dominant part of my personality, thanks to my favorite psychologist of all time, Dr. Carl Jung for making me know myself more). I have seen some comments in youtube and
like the people who posted their comments there. We all really liked this movie. I also like the lead actress in the movie, Aubrey Plazain real life (I've seen her interviews online) she's kinda awkward, 'spaced-out' sometimes and at the same time frank, and funny. I like her personality. Anyway here's the synopsis of the movie.
"From the producers of Little Miss Sunshine - When an unusual classified
ad inspires three cynical Seattle magazine employees to look for the
story behind it, they discover a mysterious eccentric named Kenneth, a
likable but paranoid supermarket clerk, who believes he's solved the
riddle of time travel and intends to depart again soon. Together, they
embark on a hilarious, smart, and unexpectedly heartfelt journey that
reveals how far believing can take you."
I also love the song from this movie. This is an 'all in one' movie, bit of drama, comedy and romance! Just perfect! If there's one movie who's made an impression on me this year this would be it. Believing in someone really makes a difference.
This is one of my fave quotes from the movie:
Kenneth: To
go alone or to go with a partner? When you choose a partner, you
have to have compromises and sacrifices, but it's a price you pay. Do I
want to follow my every whim and desire as I make my way through time
and space? Absolutely. But at the end of the day, do I need someone when
I'm doubting myself and I'm insecure and MY heart fails me? Do I need
someone, who when the heat gets hot, has my back?
Darius:Sooo... Do you?
Kenneth:I do.
Big Machine
Stand straight fall back in line
Comb your hair get to work on time
Everyone in the big machine
Tries to break your heart and pull you underneath
Maybe I’m wrong and all that you get is what you see
But maybe I’m right and there’s something out there to believe
Everybody’s talking in their sleep
They push a lot of air around but don’t say much of anything
Except when they're laughin' like some ghosts under a sheet
Everybody’s talking in their sleep
Watch out get back in line
They trip you up it happens every time
Weighed down it's just a big machine
That could break apart like anything
I'm not a stranger when it comes to 'songs from the past'. I have somewhat learned to like it. In fact I have my own classic favorites. I am familiar with classic songs because, I have rummaged before in my late aunt's collections of cassette tapes wayback. She has this original cassette of Patti Page's (best hits). The unforgettable song there was the 'cute' song, "How Much is That Doggie in the Window.?" (nice lil' puppy bark sound effect on the background as the song plays.) Maybe, you have not heard about the late Ms. Jo Stafford. For the younger netizens, here's a quick fact about her. From Wikipedia.
Jo Stafford, was an American traditional pop music
singer and occasional actress whose career spanned five decades from
the late 1930s to the early 1980s. Admired for the purity of her voice,
she originally underwent classical training to become an opera
singer before following a career in popular music, and by 1955 had
achieved more worldwide record sales than any other female artist.
The song is entitled, "I'll Be Seeing You." When I listen to classic songs such as this. It just evokes a feeling of nostalgia, and still in some way it is kind of 'romantic' for me. (I just relate any old songs to thoughts and feelings of romance.) Anyway, each of us has a different understanding and definition of the word 'romantic'. This idea is just for myself. Anyway, without any further ado here's the video.
❀I'll Be Seeing You ❀
I'll be seeing you in all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces all day through
In that small café, the park across the way
The children's carousel, the chestnut trees
The wishing well
I'll be seeing you in every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way
I'll find you in the mornin' sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you
I'll find you in the mornin' sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you
I wanted to post something new, something 'brilliant'! Something like a 'bright star.!' After a long hiatus (almost 2 years) of not updating this blog. (due to personal reasons). Aside from the fact that a lot of things had happened in those 2 years, I am posting another entry. Surprising?!
I found this movie while I was searching for a free online streaming movie website. Based from the plot of the movie, I find it interesting. Why? Because, ever since I have somewhat enjoyed watching classic movies from Shirley Temple's, "Heidi" and "A Little Princess", Ingrid Bergman's, "Anastasia" and to Peter's Finch's, "Lost Horizon" movie among many others, so this movie seemed okay for me. True enough, I wasn't disappointed. Since, there's also a 'poet' hidden inside of me so that's why I've also liked the story.
The movie is about the English romantic poet John Keats and his short lived romance with Fanny
Brawne. I will not tell anything more about John Keats life story because I want you, dear readers of this blog of mine to watch the movie for yourselves. I also shared this movie to that special someone in my life now. (okay! okay! this is no time for me to be mushy). Anyway, if you want a classic movie, with poetry, drama and romance, then you better check-out this film!
Time to open a new book in my life. Been so engrossed with the last novel that it drained too much in me. I have been so engrossed in that, that I've overlooked the other books in my life, books that are also interesting and one that holds a joy too! Life's too short to fill it with hatred and anger. We only have 1 life so let's love ourselves first. There's so much things to enjoy and dwell upon. Live the present and leave the past behind! Joie de Vivre! ♥
I was able to buy a new digital camera today. I bought this at Wellcom in Ever Gotesco Commonwealth. I was planning to buy a Kingcom camera but I found out that its not that good. My aunt (recently came back from Malawi, S.Africa) suggested that I buy this instead of the other camera. Its a good brand so its ok. Plus, I like the color turquoise blue. I also got a discount because I've got a membership card, I also got a free coffeemaker. The price is 7,014 and I paid only 6,000+. Nice!
Yup, I've changed my blog "welcome" design. Since, Winter Sonata was my 1st fave Korean drama I've decided to use one of the photo and I've added a Korean quote. The meaning of that quote is "There is no remedy for love but to love more..."
I just saw the mtv of this song tonight (sang by:Kim Ah Joong)... got intrigued by this song.. like the stars in the sky everything is connected.. Polaris, a constellation that's not changing... I'll never forget that quote.. and then I've found a "star".
I can relate to this song... and I can't help but be teary-eyed.. really touching!..
It's from the Korean movie 200 pounds beauty. This was sang by 유미.
Here's the English translation. I got this in another website.
Star
The wind is shaking the windows and over my small room
the stars fill up the sky, shining brightly too many to count,
the stars reassure the tired me.
They wipe away the man tears that are deep inside me.
Don'y be hurt too much.. they hug me tight and pamper me
and comfort me, telling me to sleep.
Though I'm exhausted to the point where I can't walk,
though my tears blur my vision.
I'll still smile in front of my love, that I'm not able to get.
Eventhough our happy times were short, I'll treasure it deep inside my heart..
I'm a blogger and proud of it! I've got 3 blogs now. This one... talks about my personal life... thoughts, emotions and day to day happenings. The second blog is my religious blog- spirituality & religious reflections. Then the 3rd one its about FOOD! This week my friend of mine and I went on restaurant hopping. For 3 days after work we just dined out. She's healthy... I mean really healthy... She's getting fatter... and its not my fault ha!ha! But I wanna gain weight too! 96 lbs. I'm kinda disappointed coz' I think I'm underweight my stomach is the one getting bigger... Waah!!!... anyway, if I've got time... I'll fix the 3rd blog right now its under construction. I added the link in this entry of mine.
I've changed the banner of this blog. I don't know but really The Phantom of the Opera, really sinks into me. Its been 2 days now and I'm still listening to one of its songs -All I Ask of Youby: Barbara Streisand. I think everyone is familiar with The Phantom... If could change the ending I would've chosen The Phantom for Christine and not Raoul. Why? Because, The Phantom has always been there for her. Because of The Phantom her dreams came true. He took care of Christine and he watched over her... also, even letting go of Christine he did that. Talk about true love and sacrifice. Yes, I want someone like The Phantom. Who will always be there for me. Someone who I can love and help and who can love and help me too!
I've just finished reading, Nicholas Sparks - A Walk to Remember. I saw the movie before and I really cried a lot. I'm really an emotional person... even in the Disney's animation before - Pocahontas, I also cried. The movie's story is a little different from the book. There's no stargazing and there's no hard bullying, (remember the scene where they made fun of Jamie's photo). Also, in the book the they spent a lot of time in the orphanage. But in the movie its just for a short time. The movie of course was kinda musical. I love the OST and as you can see I posted earlier a song from the movie. If You Believe.
--
Some of my favorite lines from the movie:
Jamie: Landon, look I thought I saw something in you, something good but I was very wrong.
Jamie: So why am I looking for this star?
Langdon: Because, I had it named for you!
Jamie: You know what I figured out today?
Langdon: what?
Jamie: Maybe, God has a bigger plan for me than I have for myself... Like this journey never ends, Like you were sent to me because I am sick...to help me through all this.. You're my angel!
Langdon: Do you love me? Will you do something for me then?
Jamie: anything
Langdon: Will you marry me?
Langdon: I'm sorry she never got her miracle..
Reverend Sullivan: she did! it was you!
Langdon: Jamie, saved my life, she thought me everything, about life, hope & the long journey ahead, I'll always miss her. But our love is like the wind, I can't see it but I can feel it.
If You Believe (OST: A Walk to Remember) I close my eyes, And even when I'm sleeping I'm alright, 'Cause You are in my life. Once upon a time, I only imagined this And now You're mine. Wished for you so hard. Prayed that You'd find me; Baby you're here today, Here to remind me: If you believe that dreams come true, There's One that's waiting there for you. 'Cause I believed when I saw You That when you want something enough, That it can't escape Your love. There is nothing in the world that cannot be...If you believe, oh oh... Everybody said That I was a fool to think That we could be; (Everybody said that...) That I couldn't get my heart out of my head But they just didn't see; No, they just could not have The feeling that You give, The places that You go... If you believe that dreams come true, There's One that's waiting there for you. 'Cause I believed when I saw You That when you want something enough, That it can't escape Your love. There is nothing in the world that cannot be... If you believe. Never wished for material things; Never needed wind in my wings. I never wished for anything but You...oh! I can't explain it, Someone just told me, "Go where your heart is, You'll never be lonely." If you believe that dreams come true, There's One that's waiting there for you. 'Cause I believed when I saw You That (when you believe) when You want Someone enough, Then they can't escape Your love. There is nothing in the world that cannot be, If you believe.Believe, believe, believe, ooh...
One of my favorite OPM. Just a wishful thinking...
Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka(sang by: Regine Velasquez & Ogie Alcasid) Tuwing ikaw ay nariyan Sabay kong nadarama ang kaba at ligaya Ang 'yong tinig wari ko'y di marinig 'Pagkat namamangha 'pag kausap ka
Kaya nais kong malaman mo Ang sinisigaw nitong aking puso
